9. SPLICE COMPARTMENTS
9.0.1 Access - The splice compartment is accessible through doors that have tamper-proof locks and
additional provisions for pad locking.

9.0.2 End Chamber Architecture - The MESA
®
6 NxT / Calix ODC-120 cabinet provides separate
end chambers for fiber and copper splicing facilities.
The right-hand chamber houses all fiber splicing and the chamber on the left houses all copper
splicing.
The inner wall of the splice compartments contain a stationary "pegboard" style panel for
mounting passive equipment which allows up to 2,880 lines of copper or fiber to be spliced.

9.0.3 OSP cable entry - Each end chamber contains cutouts in the walls between the equipment
chamber and the end chambers for ease of cable routing.
OSP cable entry is through four 4-in. (10.16 cm) inside diameter split-sleeve cable cones.
9.0.4 Equipment mounting - The splice compartments can support compact 19" rack-mount
equipment for splicing fiber and fiber splice/distribution.
