Step 5 

Install the clutch spring and set collar.  Place the drive shaft in a vise, 

making sure to place a rag or 

cloth between the jaws of the vice and the drive shaft in order to prevent marring or scratching the 
surface of the drive shaft. 
 

 

 

Step 6 

Using a spring compression tool, 

compress the spring until it measures 4 3/8” in length, the 4 3/8” should 

be the dimension of the compressed spring only.
