HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL VENTING APPLICATIONS
Venting of the unit must comply with the Installation Codes CAN/CGA-B149.1. In the USA, refer to
NATIONAL
FUEL CODE
ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54
; current edition or local codes.
Select exhaust point:
A vent shall not terminate:
a.
within 6 feet (1.8 m) of a mechanical air supply inlet to a building;
b.
above a meter/regulator assembly within 3 feet (.9 m) horizontally of the vertical center line of
the regulator,
c.
within 6 feet (1.8 m) of any gas service regulator vent outlet,
d.
less than 1 foot (.3 m) above grade level;
e.
less than 7 feet (2.1 m) above a paved sidewalk or a paved highway;
f.
within 3 feet (.3 m) of a Window or door which can be opened in any building , any non-
mechanical air supply inlet to any building or the combustion air Inlet or any other appliances.
NOTE: May be reduced to 1 foot for inputs up to 100,000 BTUH (30kW) and 3 feet (.9 m) for inputs exceeding
100,000 BTUH.
In the U.S.: The National Fuel Gas code,
ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54
, specifies a 4 foot (1.22 m) vent
terminal clearance from gas and electrical meters, regulators and relief equipment.
