The following briefly explains each General Configuration screen field:
MAC Address (Read-Only)
Displays the base physical address of the 2H28-08R.
IP Address (Modifiable)
Displays and allows the user to set the IP address for the 2H28-08R. To
set the IP address, refer to
Section 5.7.1 . The IP address can also be set
through Runtime IP Address Discovery as previously described in
Section 1.3.5 .
Subnet Mask (Modifiable)
Displays the subnet mask for the 2H28-08R. A subnet mask “masks out”
the network bits of the IP address by setting the bits in the mask to 1 when
the network treats the corresponding bits in the IP address as part of the
network or subnetwork address, or to 0 if the corresponding bit identifies
the host. Once an IP address has been entered, the device will
automatically generate and display a default subnet mask based on the
entered IP address. For details about changing the subnet mask from its
default value, refer to
Section 5.7.2 .
