USB 2.0 Extender over Ethernet
3. CONNECTION AND OPERATION
3.1 Installation Checklist
Installation with a surge protector is recommended to protect the equipment
Check for nearby AC outlets for the power adapters
Directly connect to a Cat 5e/6 cable, do not use with an active hub, network switch or router
Cat 6 cable is recommended for 480Mbps transmission rate up to 50 meters /164 feet
Use shielded Cat 6 cable in a noisy area with EMI/RFI electromagnetic interference
Power-off all source and sink devices before connecting
Test the Extender and cables before installing in a permanent location
It is not recommended to connect high power consuming USB devices to the USB ports on the
Receiver side. If you need to connect them, please power to these USB devices separately
3.2 Transmitter Panel Connections
1)
USB Port
: Employ a USB 2.0 A to B male-to-male cable to establish a connection
between the computer’s USB
-A port and the Transmitter.
2)
Power LED
: The Power LED indicator, marked by a green light, illuminates when the
Transmitter is successfully connected to a computer.
3)
CAT Port
: The CAT port serves to link with the Receiver’s corresponding CAT port using
an Ethernet cable
