6. Boot ROM Installation
To add the Remote Boot feature to a workstation, insert the Boot ROM into
socket as shown below. Align the notch and pins on the Boot ROM with the
notch and pin receptacles on the ROM socket. Gently push the Boot ROM into
the socket, being careful not to bend the pins.
AEP1100/AEP1200 Boot ROM is auto-configured with PCI slot after your PC is
initialized. The message is:
RPL-ROM-ADR
: 0040-C7xx-xxxx (Node ID)
RPL-ROM-IRQ
: x (PCI slot IRQ no.)
RPL-ROM-PIO
: x000 (PCI slot IO address)
ADR is the Ethernet Node Address of AEP1100/AEP1200. IRQ and PIO are PCI
slot configuration and configured by your system PCI BIOS.
7. Diagnostic & Driver Setup
Diagnostic program lets you test AEP1100/AEP1200 Node ID address, half-
duplex mode, board configuration, or the cable connection between any two
stations. Please refer to the Driver Diskette for more information and LAN driver
setup procedures.
