Good maintenance is your responsibility. Poor maintenance is an invitation to trouble.
To keep your Bush Hog Loader Mount series snow blower in good working condition, and increase working life, periodic

maintenance is essential. Servicing the grease points, and hydraulic system helps to flush out moisture and dirt.

By following a careful service and maintenance program for your snow blower, you will enjoy many years of trouble-free

operation.
Replacement of parts should be done by

qualified personnel only. Ensure scheduled inspections and maintenance are

performed. Keep a record of all maintenance.

General Maintenance

On a regular basis check:
•  All nuts, bolts and screws and ensure they are all properly secured.
•

Condition of all hydraulic lines, hoses and fittings. Replace any that are damaged. Re-route those that are rubbing,

pinched or crimped. Tighten any fitting that is leaking. Ensure fittings are clean and free of dirt.

•  Electrical wiring that it is not pinched, cut or hanging loose. Replace any that are damaged. Re-route if required.
•  Check auger drive chain tension, adjust as required.
•

Check filter indication gauge for the condition of the return filter. Dial reading should be in the green zone.

Hydraulic Oil

Hydraulic oil is an important part of your snow blower. Monitoring your hydraulic oil will prevent hydraulic failures and

result in long lasting equipment with good performance. Hydraulic oil level in the power unit should be checked daily, and

the quality of the oil should be inspected every 50 hrs. If the oil is dirty or smells burnt, it should be replaced. Be sure to

relieve the system of pressure before performing any service to the system. (see your power unit owner manual)

!

WARNING

Hydraulic Oil Hazard

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. .Hydraulic oil pressure can

remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be

caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered and the oil is cool before removing

any components or lines. All hydraulic parts replacement should be performed by

qualified

personnel.

Maintenance

9

Follow good shop practices.

9

Maintenance and parts replacement should be

performed by

qualified personnel to ensure safe and

complete service.

9

Never work around or under equipment unless it is

blocked securely and is secure from unexpected

movement.

9

A first aid kit should be kept readily accessible.

9

Always use personal protection devices such as eye,

hand, foot and hearing protectors.

9

Use heavy gloves when handling heavy or sharp

components.

9

Ensure the power unit brakes are on and wheels are

chocked.

9

Shut off the engine on the power unit, remove and

pocket the ignition key.
