15.5.3 Activating a user-defined damping of the mass flow rate
values
The damping makes it possible to damp the fluctuations of the measured values of the mass flow rate:
• on the display,
• on the totalizers,
• on the outputs. The damping set for an analog output comes in addition to the damping of the mass flow
rate.
By default, the measured mass flow rate values are damped with the level Medium .
To damp the fluctuations of the measured values, you can:

either choose 1 of the 3 predefined damping levels: Low , Medium or High . See chapter 15.5.2 .

Or you can set your own damping parameters with the
Special
damping.
With the Special damping, you can set 2 parameters:
• a user-defined Response time in seconds,
• the
Jump threshold
, i.e. a user-defined percentage. If 2 consecutive measured values vary for ± the per -
centage, no damping is applied to the second measured value.
To set your own damping parameters of the measured mass flow rate values, do the following:

Go to the CONFIGURATION view.
→
SAW sensor
→
Confirm to access the Parameter view.
→
Stand. meas. values
→
Mass flow
→
Damping The Current settings are displayed
→
Special
→
Set the value of the Response time
→
Choose if the Jump threshold is enabled or disabled
→
If the Jump threshold is enabled, set the value.
→
The
New settings
are displayed Save.
The special damping of the mass flow rate values is active.
