Select a Unit
Complete the following steps to select a unit to configure for service:
1.
Start the UCT software by double-clicking the program icon on your desktop. Or, click
Start
>
Programs
>
American Innovations
>
Configuration Toolkit
.
When the
Find Devices
window appears, it displays all the units it detects that you have
connected to your PC. Usually that is only one unit, as in Figure 3-11.

Select the Bullhorn unit you want to configure. Click
Select
when you finish.
After clicking
Select
, the
Find Devices
window closes and the UCT software begins
reading unit information stored on the controller board. When this process completes, the
main configuration window displays.
3.
Press
F2
to verify the Bullhorn unit and UCT software are communicating. You can also
click
Tools
>
Read Unit Settings
to verify communications.
4.
If you want to choose a different Bullhorn unit other than the one selected earlier:
a.
Click
Tools
>
Settings
>
Serial Port / Another Unit
. Or, press
Ctrl
+
P
to select another
unit.
b.
When the
Find Devices
window appears, select the Bullhorn unit you want to
configure. Click
Select
when you finish.
c.
Press
F2
to verify communications.
Load a Template
The following procedure explains how to configure a Bullhorn unit using configuration settings
that have previously been saved in a configuration template. The configuration template must
include settings for the same unit type as the unit type you plan to configure.
For example, if you configured settings for an SDT16-GSM and then saved settings in a
configuration template, use the template to configure another SDT16-GSM with the same settings.
If needed, you can use the UCT software later to change settings as required.
