Channels
For unit types in the SDT16 family, the UCT software displays information in the
Channels
group
box on the main configuration window as shown in Figure 3-10.
Click a channel number in the
Channels
column to display a configuration window for the selected
channel. Use the configuration window to map a register to the selected channel. The UCT
software displays an overview of each channel’s configuration settings in the
Unit Address
,
Register
, and
Scaling
fields. If you are working with a Mercury input device, settings display in the
Instr Type
(instrument type) field instead of the
Unit Address
field. The last register reading
received from the input device displays in the
Raw Read
field with the corresponding scaled reading
shown in the
Scaled Read
field.

group box fields:

Alarm Input:
This is an informational field that indicates the current alarm status of the
Bullhorn unit. If the input device is connected to the
Chan 1
alarm input on the Bullhorn
unit, the UCT software displays the current alarm status in the
Alarm Input
field.
Open
indicates a non-alarm condition. If the contact closure is closed, the word
Closed
displays
in the status box to indicate an alarm condition.

Read Now / Auto Update:
Click the
Read Now
button to force the Bullhorn unit to read all
registers. The UCT software displays updated register readings in the
Raw Read
and
Scaled
Read
fields. When
Auto Update
is enabled, the UCT software displays current register
readings every 5 minutes until
Auto Update
is disabled.

Channel 1 – Channel 16:
Click a channel number to display the configuration window for
the selected channel. Use the configuration window to map a register to the selected
channel. The Bullhorn unit supports up to sixteen 6-digit registers, eight 12-digit registers,
or a combination of both.
