Also note that if you are able to successfully make a cell phone call at the installation site using a
digital cell phone, the SDT16-GSM will also be able to successfully transmit data and alarm packets
from the field to your website account. If needed, contact AI Technical Support to determine if
digital cellular coverage is available at the installation site.
SkyWave-Inmarsat Satellite Service
SAT Bullhorn units use SkyWave satellite terminals and network services to transmit data and
alarm packets from the field through Inmarsat satellites to your website account. For more
information about Inmarsat satellites or SkyWave network services, visit the following websites:

The Bullhorn website includes a SkyWave-Inmarsat coverage map. If you plan to
install the Bullhorn unit outside the United States, use the coverage map and the procedure in
Determining the Satellite Look Angle (SAT Only) on page 25 to correctly install the SkyWave satellite
terminal.

If you plan to install the Bullhorn unitin the United States, install the SkyWave
satellite terminal so that it faces in a southeast direction. The satellite terminal is programmed at the
factory for communications with the Inmarsat satellite positioned southeast of the United States.
Figure 1-10 shows satellite coverage for installations in the United States. The green satellite
represents the satellite located southeast of the U.S. that provides coverage for all U.S. installations.
The gray satellite indicates no coverage. The yellow satellite indicates marginal coverage in the area
of southern California and along the Pacific coast.
