7. Plug the second power cable into the rear of the new power supply.
Note: Do not connect the power cable to the power source until you are instructed to do so.
8. Connect the power source to the system.
9. Note the state of the LEDs on the top of the power supply. If the LEDs indicate the power supply is
operating normally, continue to the next step. If not, remove the power supply from the system and
repeat the procedure starting with step 5 on page 68. If, after repeating the procedure, the power
supply in not operating normally, contact your service representative.
10. Replace the service access cover as described in “Replacing the 296/C3 Service Access Cover” on
page 12 or “Replacing the 296/E3 Service Access Cover” on page 13. If you are servicing a 296/E3,
go to step 12.
If you are servicing a 296/C3, continue to the next step.
11. Route the cables through the cable-management arm.
12. Return the system to the operating position as described in “Returning the 296/C3 to the Operating
Position” on page 7 or “Placing the 296/E3 into the Service and Operating Position” on page 7.
13. On a 296/C3, close the rear rack door.
