Commissioning

Only suitably qualified and authorised personnel may start up the machine, carry
out a trial run and adjust settings.

5.1

Checks before start-up

All transport aids and installation fasteners have been removed.

The electrical installation has been carried out and checked by a qualified elec-
trician:

Electrical connections and connection voltages

Earthing of the machine

 (see

Chap. 4.6,

22

)

Direction of rotation of the motors

All operating elements and warning systems are fully functional.

A lockable safety switch that interrupts the power at all poles is installed and the
personnel possess a lock for this switch.

All screw unions are tightened securely.

There are no foreign objects in the machine.

All electrical terminal boxes and sockets are closed.

The correct sieves have been inserted and clamped.

The sieve frame must be securely fastened into the guide.

The sieve box must be able to move freely and may not touch the frame.

5.2

Verifying EC conformity

Within the territory of the EU, operation of the machine may begin only after its EC
conformity has been checked and confirmed in accordance with the checklist.

Checklist

1. The management has been informed that the operating instructions must be

accessible to the personnel at all times, and that management is responsible for
appropriate training of its personnel.

2. Assembly and installation are performed in accordance with the operating

instructions.

3. A lockable safety switch that interrupts the power at all poles is installed and the

personnel possess a lock for this switch.

4. There is a conductive connection between the sieve box and the frame

(earthing

cable) (see

Fig. 4.4,

22

)

.

5. The frame is connected with the equipotential bonding system

(see

Fig. 4.4,

22

)

.

6. Entry of external sources of ignition is either prevented on the installation side or

the machine is decoupled from Ex zones by means of suitable elements. The
consequences of an explosion in installation components upstream or
downstream of the machine are reduced to a manageable level with the help of
pressure relief and / or fire-extinguishing systems that are outlined in the
installation safety analysis.
