NOTE: In this mode, even if the scanner is configured to connect to a Gateway Server, no patient
data will be saved in the scanner or uploaded.
NOTE: Individual SEM and SEM∆ should be noted in the patient’s physical or electronic medical
record per your institutions policies and procedures.
4.6.4
Manual Patient ID Entry
Figure 19 shows the screen to enter a patient identifier manually.

Using the patient worn or chart barcode ID, enter all the characters of the ID.
Use the delete key (
<
) to erase errors.
To access numbers, press the number key (
#
).
When done, press the OK key (
Ok
) to proceed to the selection of body location.
If you wish to abandon manual ID entry and start over, press the back key (
Back
).
Select Body Location
In Barcode Scanning and Manual Charting modes, the Body Location selection screen will
be displayed (Figure 20). This screen provides the ability to scan the Sacrum, Left Heel and
Right
Heel, as well as display the final SEM∆ values for each area.
Touch the Select ( ) icon over the body area you wish to scan. Body areas may be scanned
in any order or omitted based on clinical judgement.
