Telephone (voice) operations

Making a telephone call

Pick up the handset.

—

Press

Hook/Hold/Recall

When you hear a dial tone, dial the call using the dial pad,
One-Touch, Speed-Dial and Search.

To hang up, replace the handset.

Hold

Press

Hook/Hold/Recall

to put a call on Hold.

You can put down the handset without disconnecting the call.

Pick up the MFC handset to release call from Hold. Picking up
the handset of an extension phone will not release call from
Hold.

If you pressed

Hook/Hold/Recall

to dial, pick up the handset

when the other person answers. (The speaker works only one
way. The other person will not be able to hear you unless you
pick up the handset.)
