Setup for Polling Transmit

Polled Transmit is when you set up your FAX/MFC to wait with a document so
another FAX/MFC can retrieve it.

Place document to be retrieved in feeder.

Press

Menu/Set

The screen displays:

Press

to choose STNDARD and

press

Menu/Set

Press

to select DOC if you want your machine to scan the printed document at the

time it is polled—OR—Press

to select MEMORY.

Press

if you want to select additional

settings. The display returns to the Setup Send
menu—OR—Press

if you are finishing

choosing settings and go to Step 6.

Start

. The screen displays POLLED WAITING.

Setup for Polling Transmit with Secure Code

When you set POLLED:SECURE to on, anyone who polls your machine must enter
the polling ID number.

Place document in feeder.

Press

Menu/Set

Enter a four-digit number and press

Menu/Set

Press

to select DOC if you want your machine to scan the printed document at the

time it is polled—OR—Press

to select MEMORY.

and wait for the fax to be polled.

If you pressed

in Step 4, the printed document remains in the ADF until your

machine is polled. However, you can “interrupt” it to send another fax.
