Powering the SilkWorm 3800 On and Off
To power the SilkWorm 3800 on:
Connect at least one power cable to a power connector on the switch and to a power source,
then flip the AC power switch to “I”.
Note:
The switch runs POST (power-on self-test) by default each time it is powered on, reset
or rebooted, and requires a minimum of three minutes to boot and complete POST after
it is powered on.
To power the SilkWorm 3800 off:
To power the switch off, power off both power supplies (if both are installed) by flipping each
AC power switch to “O”.
Note:
Removing all power from the switch triggers a system reset. All devices are returned
to their initial state the next time the switch is powered on.
Interpreting LED Activity
System activity and status can be determined through the activity of the LEDs on the switch.
There are three possible LED states: no light, a steady light, and a flashing light. The steady lights
and flashing lights may be any of the following colors:
•
Green
•
Orange (may be referred to as “amber” in other documentation)
•
Yellow (appears when both green and orange LED elements are lit)
The LEDs may flash any of the colors during boot, POST, or other diagnostic tests. This is normal,
and does not indicate a problem unless the LEDs do not indicate a healthy state after all boot
processes and diagnostic tests are complete.
