Connect the HBA to the fabric.
NOTE
Use only multimode fiber optic cable with LC connectors to connect the
HBA to the fabric. For information on maximum distances supported by
fiber optic cable types, refer to the “Specifications” chapter of the
Brocade
HBA Installation and Reference Manual.
a. Pull out the protective rubber inserts from the HBA SFP connectors (if
installed).
b. Connect the cable to the appropriate SFP LC connector on the HBA.

Turn on host power and observe LED operation. Refer to “LED
operation” in the “Specifications” chapter of the
Brocade HBA
Installation and Reference Manual
for details on LED operation.
Installing software
Use the following steps to install the HBA driver package only, driver package
and HCM, or HCM only using the Brocade HBA Software Installer. This
GUI-based application installs the appropriate driver package for your local host
system. The Software Installer can install HCM either on the local host or to any
remote system for remote HBA management.
You also can install the HBA driver package and HCM using HBA Software
Installer commands instead of the GUI-based program. In addition, you can
install the driver package using procedures that are “native” to supported
operating system and server platforms. Refer to instructions in the
