Installation: Forward-Facing
3 Pull the vehicle belt out and thread it through
the forward-facing belt path (Fig. C).
TIP:
Turning the back of the child seat toward you
can make routing the vehicle belt easier.
4 Verify that the vehicle belt is not twisted and
buckle (Fig. D).
5 Push the child seat firmly into the vehicle seat
while removing slack first from the lap portion
of the vehicle belt, then the shoulder portion
(Fig. E).
• Ensure the vehicle seat belt system is locked.
• If your vehicle is not equipped with a lockable
seat belt system, use of a locking clip may
be required. See page 35 for locking clip
instructions
.
6 If the vehicle is equipped with an approved
tether anchor, attach the Versa-Tether
®
hook to
an approved tether anchor. Remove all slack
from the tether to secure. Store excess webbing
in the tether pouch. See pages 29 - 32.
7 Verify that the vehicle belt is tight, locked, and
that the child seat is secure.
• The child seat is secure when it cannot be
moved front-to-back or side-to-side more than 1
inch (2.5 cm.) at the belt path. If the child seat
is not secure, repeat the installation process or
use an alternate seating location.
