USING YOUR KETTLE
1. Remove the kettle from the power base and fill it with
water either through the spout or through the opened
lid. Don’t overfill the kettle and always ensure that
there is sufficient water in the kettle (approx. 250ml)
for it to operate correctly (figure 1).
2. Check the level with the kettle on its power base
(figure 2).
3. If removed, refit the lid and then switch the kettle on
by moving the switch to the down position. Make sure
that the lid is closed correctly to ensure safe operation
(figure 3).
4. When the water reaches boiling point, the kettle will
switch off automatically (figure 4).
5. You may also switch the kettle off manually at any
time by moving the switch to the up
position (figure 5).
Always use caution when carrying the kettle when it is full
of boiling water and when pouring it.
IF THE KETTLE BOILS DRY
If your kettle is operated with insufficient water a built in
safety device will automatically switch it off preventing
damage. If this should happen:
• Unplug your kettle and allow it to cool. When your
kettle has cooled down sufficiently the safety device
will reset itself.
• Once the safety device has reset, refill your kettle with
cold water and use it as normal.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any packaging and promotional material from
your kettle and position it on a stable, secure, dry and
level work surface away from the edge.
Before connecting to a power source, make sure your
mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on
the appliance. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet
and make sure that the power cord does not overhang
the work surface. Excess power cord can be stored in the
power base.
Remove the kettle from the power base. Fill it to the
maximum mark.
Place the kettle back onto the power base. Switch the
kettle on, allow it to boil then discard the water. Repeat
twice. This will remove any residue left over from the
manufacturing process.

STAND BY ILLUMINATION
Your kettle is fitted with Spectra

that lights the kettle body with everchanging mood
lighting. The Spectra

stand-by illumination will go out
after approximately 20 minutes.
To restart the Spectra
®
stand-by illumination do one of the
following:
• Lift the kettle off the power base and replace it again
• Unplug the kettle then plug it back in again
• Boil the kettle as normal
To switch off the Spectra

The Spectra

is active. The water chamber
softly glows through the colour
spectrum. The Spectra

stand-by
illumination will go out after
approximately 20 mins.
Kettle plugged
in, kettle on/off
switch ON
The water chamber illuminates
and changes from blue to red
(assuming that the water is cool)
to indicate the progress of the
boiling cycle. The redder the
illumination, the closer the water
is to boiling. The on/off switch
illuminates blue during the boiling
process.
CLEANING
1. Unplug the kettle from the mains supply socket and
allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or
descaling it.
2. Clean the exterior surface of the kettle with a damp
cloth and then polish with a soft dry cloth. Do not use
steel wool pads or harsh/abrasive cleaners.
3. Descale your kettle regularly to keep it working
efficiently. Use a descaling product following the
manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
