Soup
The SMART DEFROST SOUP is suitable for
defrosting frozen prepared soups directly from
the freezer (approx. –18°C / 0°F). Minimum
amount of soup to defrost is 200mL (7 fl. oz)
and maximum is 2L (68 fl.oz).
Remove soup from any packaging and place
into a microwave-safe bowl.
Halfway through the defrost setting, an alert
tone will sound, and STIR / TURN will flash.
Open door or press STOP / CLEAR button
once to pause. Break up any frozen pieces,
reseal and press START button to continue.
SHORTCUTS
Melt chocolate
At the press of a button, the MELT
CHOCOLATE setting is designed to melt
chocolate without overheating and seizing of
the chocolate.
NOTE
The melt chocolate setting was tested
with dark chocolate. If using other types of
chocolate, check at short intervals to prevent
possible seizing of chocolate.
Choose a suitable glass bowl and do not cover.
If using a block of chocolate, cut into 1cm (½-
inch) pieces.
Open door and press MELT CHOCOLATE
button on shortcuts panel.
Turn POWER / AMOUNT dial to select
weight and press START button to commence
melting. Minimum amount of chocolate is
100g (3.5oz) and maximum is 500g (1.1lbs).
Halfway through the program, an alert tone
will sound, and STIR/TURN food will flash.
Open door or press STOP / CLEAR button
once to pause. Stir chocolate, close door and
press START button to finish melting.
NOTE
At the end, some of the chocolate may still
hold its shape. Stir until completely melted
and smooth.
Soften butter
The shortcut SOFTEN BUTTER setting is
perfectly designed to soften butter suitable to
cream immediately in a mixer.
The soften butter setting will soften butter that
has been taken directly from the refrigerator
(approx. 5°C / 40°F).
Place butter in a single piece on a microwave-
safe plate and do not cover.
Open door and press SOFTEN BUTTER
button on shortcuts panel.
Turn POWER / AMOUNT dial to select
weight and press START button to commence
softening. Minimum amount of butter is 25g
(0.9oz) and maximum is 250g (8.8oz).
NOTE
The butter should be soft enough to push your
finger easily into the centre. The butter should
not be melted.
Beverage
The shortcut BEVERAGE setting is suitable
to reheat hot drinks such as coffee and tea
that may have become cold. The BEVERAGE
setting will warm your drink to approx.
60–65°C (140-150°F) which is suitable to drink
right away.
Position cups around the outside of the
turntable. Press the BEVERAGE button on
the shortcuts panel inside the door.
Turn the POWER/AMOUNT dial to select
the number of cups and press START to
begin cooking. You can select the amount of
beverage from 1 cup (250mL / 8 fl. oz) to 4
cups (1L / 32fl. oz).
At the end of the reheat cycle, stir heated drinks
and allow to stand for 1–2 minutes before
consuming. Be aware, that overheating may
scald or burn drinks.
Pizza
The shortcut PIZZA setting has been
specially designed to perfectly reheat leftover
pizza slices.
Press the PIZZA button on the shortcuts
panel inside the door.
