By extracting and

About vacuum preservation

Oxygen i

s

 one of the main rea

s

on

s

 why food

deteriorate

s

. By cau

s

ing a chemical change, it

reduce

s

the nutritional value, level of vitamin

s

texture, colour, flavour and overall quality of
the food. In vacuum condition

s

, the food

deterioration proce

ss

 i

s

s

lowed down.

The Braun fre

s

s

y

s

tem ha

s

 been de

s

igned

to offer maximum flexibility to the u

s

er in the

preparation and pre

s

ervation of food. The

s

y

s

tem i

s

 therefore ideal for everyday u

s

e.

There are, however, a few general

s

afeguard

s

that need to be followed to obtain the be

s

re

s

ult

s

.

Caution
Please read through the use instructions
carefully before using the appliance.

Vacuum pre

s

ervation i

s

 not a

s

ub

s

titute for

food

s

torage in the refrigerator or freezer.

Therefore, the recommended

s

torage

time

s

 and e

s

pecially temperature

s

 for the

re

s

pective food type

s

 need to be

s

trictly

ob

s

erved. We further recommend a

s

torage temperature of between -1 and

+7 °C (ba

food. Thi

s

 can be achieved by

s

toring the

food in the

s

pecial cool compartment

s

of the refrigerator.

Do not u

s

 or minced meat in

the refrigerator. In general, the

s

e type

s

 of

food

s

hould only be

s

tored in the freezer.

Alway

s

allow food to cool down to room

temperature (below 40 °C) before applying
the vacuum (to prevent a vacuum boiling
effect).

Hou

s

ehold vacuum food

s

torage cannot

be compared with indu

trial vacuum food

pac

aging. It i

s

 not po

ss

ible to achieve the

s

ame

k

ind of pre-treatment and micro-

biological quality in the home.

Never pre

s

erve whipped food (e.g. whipped

cream, beaten egg white, de

ss

ert

s

, cream

etc.) in vacuum condition

s

. Thi

s

k

ind of food

enter the vacuum pump and damage it.

The lid

s

 of the Fre

hWare container

s

 are

not microwave-proof and not oven-proof.

Tips and tricks

The combination of Braun Fre

the vacuum pump will ma

to marinate

s

uch food

s

 a

s

 beef in hour

s

in

s

tead of day

s

. For be

s

t re

s

ult

s

, pour

marinade over the meat, then create a
vacuum and relea

s

e it right away. Repeat

thi

s

procedure twice more and let the beef

marinate without vacuum for three hour

s

Food

s

uch a

s

 rice, lentil

s

, cereal

s

 and flour

which are not pre

s

erved in the refrigerator

can eventually become

s

tale or

Fat

Avoid opening vacuum-

of the food in
