In Case of Difficulty
Playback will not start even after a title
is selected.
The parental level cannot be changed.
The voice or subtitle language selected
in the initial setting is not played.
Menu screen messages are not shown in
the desired language.
A VCD cannot be played using menus.
The VCD disc being played is not
compatible with PBC.
Menu playback is available only with
VCD discs recorded with PBC.
The menu language function
(MENU) is not set to desired language.
Select disc menu language.
The DVD disc being played does not
contain the recording of the selected
voice or subtitle language.
The initial playback language is
specified by the DVD disc.
The DVD specifications provide for
selection at the menu screen.
Use a DVD disc containing the recording
of the selected voice or subtitle language.
Press SUBTITLE or the AUDIO button
on the remote and select the language.
Select at the menu screen of the disc.
You have forgotten the password.
Set the initial setup to the factory setup
with the following procedure.
Press the MENU button on the remote to
enter SETUP MENU .
Select PREFERENCE , then press the
ENTER button.
Select DEFAULTS , press the cursor
right ( ) button to select RESET .
Press the numeric buttons as shown below.
Press then press the ENTER
button. The password set at the time of
shipping from the factory is “5454”.
A viewing restriction ( PARENTAL ) has
been set for the disc.
Check the viewing restriction level
( PARENTAL ) setting.
“THE PLAYER IS LOCKED” is
displayed on the TV screen (the mark
on the main unit display is lit), and
disk tray opening/closing operation is
not accepted.
Operation is prohibited.
Press the MENU button on the remote control
for several seconds while holding down the
stop (
Q
) button on the main unit.
“THE PLAYER IS UNLOCKED” will be
displayed the ( ) mark will not be lit, and
operation will become possible.

Halt Icon
The halt icon is displayed
and remote control is not usable.
Playback is restricted intentionally by
the software producer.
The operation is inhibited. Please try another
operation.

Batteries are exhausted.
The remote control is too far away from
the system, the controlling angle is devi-
ated or there is an obstacle in between.
Replace with new batteries.
