8.4 Test sequence for validating the safety functions
8.4.1 General
The basis for testing is the acceptance according to the applica‐
tion manual "Rexroth IndraDrive Integrated Safety Technology
“Safe Motion”, R911338920", see also chapter 1.2 "Required and
supplementary documentation" on page 5 .
The escalation, see chapter 8.4.4 "Escalation" on page 53 has
to be verified before the configuration according to the chapters
listed below is executed, because after the acceptance described
below, the safety-related functions may no longer be re-config‐
ured and the acceptance has to be carried out anew.
8.4.2 Axis validation
Within the framework of the axis validation, a test is run to see whether mo‐
tion sensing of “Safe Motion” (encoders and scaling settings) corresponds to
the real movement of the mechanical axis system and the expected values.
The axis validation always has to be carried out whenever the scaling set‐
tings or encoder settings were changed. Before a self-contained servo-hy‐
draulic linear axis may be employed in safety-related applications, axis vali‐
