9 Operation
CAUTION
Noise! In certain operating situations, the servo-
hydraulic actuator may emit increased noise. This may
impair the wellbeing of persons in close proximity.

If required, provide suitable structural noise protec-
tion measures.

Use suitable hearing protection, if required.
On the servo-hydraulic actuator, no settings or modifications are required
during operation. Only use the product within the performance range for which
the servo-hydraulic actuator is designed. The system manufacturer is respon-
sible for correct project planning of the system and its control.
9.1 Operational states
The following diagnostic functions are provided to protect the components and
the machine as a whole:

Monitoring functions

Field data acquisition
Monitoring functions
Essentially, the monitoring functions can be classified into two categories:
General system monitoring functions
●
Monitoring of the machine data for valid settings
●
Monitoring for cable break
●
Monitoring of the drive controller
●
Monitoring of the braking resistor load
●
Monitoring of the HW IO modules for error-free function (if HW IO modules
are provided)
●
Monitoring of field bus communication for failure
Axis monitoring functions
●
Monitoring for over- and underpressures (chamber pressures - only overpres-
sures, accumulator pressure)
●
Monitoring for overtemperatures (motor, oil)
●
Monitoring for excessive following errors
●
Monitoring for excessive filter clogging
●
Monitoring for exceeding and falling below position limit values
●
Monitoring for safety functions (if safety technology is provided)

Monitoring of spool position of safety valves

Monitoring of axis velocity
