Connection technique

6.3.1

Power connection

General

Motor destruction by direct connection to the

50/60 Hz power grid (three-wire or single-

phase power supply)!

CAUTION

The motors described here can only be operated with suitable drive control‐

lers with variable output voltage and frequency (converter mode) as specified

by Rexroth.

The stators in standard design are provided with an approx. 1.5m long con‐

nection strand (single wires within a protective conduit). The connection

strand consists of three power wires or three power wire pairs and two up to

six wire pairs for the cold conductors in the winding head.

strand of the motor are marked with U-V-W.
Smaller power wire cross-sections can be color-coded:

The connection strand is a motor-internal connection. For this reason, the in‐

sulation of the connection strand is designed for higher temperatures than the

power cables (connection between stator and controller). For this reason, the

minimum cross-sections for power wires specified in the motor data sheet

may deviate from the power wire cross-sections in the connection strand

specified below.

The cross-section of the conductor pairs of the temperature sen‐

sors is AWG 22 (KTY84) or 0.5 mm² (NTC and bimetal).
