The RA1165 Under-Table Router Base is designed only for use with Bosch 1617/18 Series
router motors.
Assembly and Installation
▶ Attaching Base To Mounting
Plate
Attach the RA1165 to the router table’s
mounting plate using either or both sets
of enclosed mounting screws.
The base has two sets of threaded holes
for mounting the base:
•
Three 10-24 holes in industry-stan-
dard 3-hole pattern.
•
Four M4 holes in Bosch 4-hole pat-
tern.
Included mounting screws for the
RA1165:
•
Three 10-24 x 3/4" screws.
•
Four M4 x 20 mm screws.
If your router table mounting plate does
not have countersunk holes in either of
those patterns, you will need to deter-
mine the hole locations, drill and coun-
tersink them, also locate and drill a hole
for the over-table adjustment wrench.
Note:
Because each of the holes in the
Bosch 4-hole pattern goes all the way
through the base, it is easier to use it as
a template for marking the mounting
plate for drilling, than is the 3-hole pat-
tern (which has one hole that does not
go all the way through the base).
The RA1165 should be positioned so
that its quick-release clamp lever and
depth adjustment controls face the
front of the router table (Fig. 1).
Once the mounting plate has suitable
countersunk mounting holes, attach the
RA1165 using one or both of the attach-
ment screw sets with a no. 2 Philips
screwdriver.
▶ Installing The Mounting Plate
In The Router Table
Follow the instructions in the router
table’s owner’s manual.
▶ Installing Motor
The motor can be installed with the
switch facing left or right. It is best to
orient the motor’s on/off switch (and
speed control on the 1617EVS or
1618EVS motors) on the RA1165 so that
