6.3 Testing Generators
Operators must wear ear protectors during
testing.
!
Never run AC generators over 100 rpm without the battery
being connected.
Otherwise the generator could be
damaged
!
6.3.1
Polarisation of DC generators
- Allow generator to run briefly as a motor (polarisation). To do
this, disconnect the connection to the drive motor of the
combination test bench, and connect the b pole directly
to the D+/61 terminal of the generator. The generator must run
in the direction of rotation indicated.
The generator voltage must be reached with the generator cold at
the rated voltage speed without load.
The adjust load corresponds to 2/3 of the maximum current value.
When the load current has been set and reached, read off the
rotational speed and compare it with the test specifications.
6.3.2
Test procedure
- Close protective cover.
- Actuate
