2 General Safety Information

Failure to follow the safety information and
instructions could result in serious injuries or damage
to materials.
The tool has been specifically designed to repair
HDEV5 and HDEV6 high-pressure injection valves.
The safety and function of the tool can no longer be
ensured if it is misused or modified in ways not
expressly approved by the manufacturer. These
actions could result in personal injury or damage to
materials.
Ensure that all users of the tool are familiar with
these operating instructions, have read them
carefully and have access to them at all times.
Use this tool only for its specified uses. If a part is
lost, replace it only with an original spare part.
In general when carrying out a service, replace the
corresponding spare parts of the affected
interfaces before reinstalling the injector in the
engine/rail, e.g. following intermediate inspections
when carrying out engine trials during the
development phase or after removing the injectors
at the workshop during servicing.
Ensure that the floor is level, stable, and clear of
obstruction.
Wear safety shoes that meet the
ISO 20345, S2 standard.
Once uninstalled, protect the HDEV from
contamination, liquids getting into the HDEV, and
stress in sensitive areas.
If it is necessary to replace the high-pressure
injection valve during servicing, use only a HDEV
that is clean, in its original packaging and not more
than ten years old (see date of manufacture or as
exception: the high-pressure injection valve can be
used following the revision by Robert Bosch GmbH).
Carefully protect the combustion chamber seal
from grease and oil to prevent damage to the
sealing ring or gases escaping from the combustion
chamber when the vehicle is in operation.
Clean the hydraulic interface with a clean, lint-free
cloth prior to installation.
Do not use sandpaper or wire brushes on the
sealing surface of the O-ring on the hydraulic
interface.
