MAINTENANCE

While reading this Operator’s Guide, remember that:

WARNING

Indicates a potential hazard that, if not avoided, could result in serious in-
jury or death.

WARNING

Unless otherwise specified, engine
should not be running for all main-
tenance procedures.
Before performing any service or
inspection operation on the vehi-
cle, wait until the engine and ex-
haust have cooled down to avoid
potential burns.

WARNING

Should removal of a locking de-
vice (e.g. lock tabs, self-locking
fasteners, etc.) be required, when
undergoing

disassembly/assem-

bly, always replace with a new
one.

NOTE:

The following covers the

maintenance items that can be per-
formed by the customer if desired.
Other items found in MAINTENANCE
CHART must be performed by an au-
thorized Bombardier ATV dealer.

Engine/Transmission

Among other things, this section gives
the procedures to replace the liquids.
Refer to LIQUIDS for procedures to
check levels and refill.

Oil Change and Oil Filter
Replacement

Oil and filter are to be replaced at
the same time. Oil change should be
done with a warm engine.

WARNING

The engine oil can be very hot.
Wait until engine oil is warm.

Ensure vehicle is on a level surface.

Remove dipstick.

Clean the drain plug area.

Place a drain pan under the engine
drain plug area.

Remove drain plug and drain all oil
from oil tank. Wipe out any oil spillage
on frame.

UNDER VEHICLE

Allow enough time for oil to flow out
of oil filter.

Unscrew oil filter cover.

Remove the oil filter and replace by a
new filter.

NOTE:

Check and change the O-ring,

if necessary.
