Determine Latch Specifi cations for Clearance:
a. The Contemporary Post Latch with Handle requires
a latch clearance of 1"-3" and works with a post
size of 4"+ and upright size of 3"+ (Fig. 1).
Determine Latch Location:
NOTE: Latch should be on the same side as the hinges.
a. With gate closed, align latch on post at desired
height, center striker on upright and determine gate
handle location on upright (Fig. 2).
b. Mark screw location on post and upright (Fig. 3).
Mount Latch on Post:
a. Drill 7/32" pilot holes on the post for latch location
(Fig. 4).
b. Install latch to post with provided screws and
tighten (Fig. 5).
Mount Striker on Gate:
a. Drill 7/32" pilot holes on the gate for striker
location (Fig. 6).
b. Install striker to gate with provided screws
and tighten (Fig. 7).
Mount Handle on Gate:
a. Drill 7/32" pilot holes on the gate for striker
location (Fig. 8).
b. Fasten handle to gate with provided screws
and tighten (Fig. 9).
