Precondition
The communication system
has an interface for an external
audio device. You can connect
stereo audio playback devices
such as an MP3 player, for
example, provided they have a
LINE OUT output and that they
fit in the stowage compart-
ment in front of the control
unit. You also need a compat-
ible connecting cable. The
cable must have a stereo jack
plug with a diameter of 3.5 mm
to connect to the control unit.
Consult a trade outlet or your
authorised BMW motorcycle
dealer for more advice.
Setting up an external
audio device
Opening and closing the
radio compartment and
adjusting settings at the con-
trol unit can distract your at-
tention from the traffic and
lead to accidents. Do not at-
tempt to operate the control
unit while riding.

compartment.

• Place the audio device in the
stowage compartment in
front of the control unit.
• Close the lid of the radio
compartment.

• Repeatedly press the CD
button on the radio until

appears in the radio display.
• Switch on the audio device.

stereo quality on the speak-
ers integrated into the hel-
mets.
