Topping up the engine oil

If the oil level is below the 

MIN

 

mark:

• Using the tool from the 

toolkit, remove the filler plug.

• Pour in the appropriate 

quantity of engine oil.

• Using the tool from the 

toolkit, hand-tighten the filler 
plug.

To avoid damaging the 
engine, do not top up the 

oil level past the MAX mark.

The red

 

General warning 

light in combination with 

an 'engine oil pressure' warn-
ing indicates that there is no oil 
pressure in the lube-oil system 
or that the oil pressure in the 
system is too low. Under no 
circumstances is this combi-
nation to be regarded as fulfill-
ing the function of an oil 
gauge.

The 'engine oil pressure' warn-
ing (

 25) must disappear and 

the red General warning light 
(

b

 27) must go out when oil 

pressure builds up 1 to 2 sec-
onds after the engine starts.

Brakes

A properly functioning brake 
system is a basic requirement 
for the road safety of your 
motorcycle.

Incorrect working prac-
tices endanger the relia-

bility of the brakes.
Have all work on the brake 
system carried out by a spe-
cialist workshop, preferably an
