CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Never use a wire,
needle, or similar object to clean
pilot. This can damage pilot unit.
Use a vacuum cleaner, pressurized air, or a
small, soft bristled brush to clean.
A yellow tip on the pilot flame indicates dust
and dirt in the pilot assembly. There is a small
pilot air inlet hole about 2" from where the
pilot flame comes out of the pilot assembly
(see Figure 31). With the unit off, lightly blow
air through the air inlet hole. You may blow
through a drinking straw if compressed air is
not available.
CABINET
Air Passageways
Use a vacuum cleaner or pressurized air
to clean.
Exterior
This appliance is built using mostly high-
grade stainless steel to resist rust. In outdoor
applications, all stainless steel will become
dull, and depending on the environment
and the materials used in the installation,
may develop some surface oxidation (rust).
This does not effect the performance for the
fireplace, and does not require any action to
correct. To avoid these issues, clean as re
-
quired with stainless steel cleaner or WD40.
When installation application includes highly
acidic applications such or mortar or stone
or etching, do not remove the protective
PVC film from the stainless steel until after
this application is complete. Once the film
has been removed we recommend that the
appliance be cleaned with a stainless steel
cleaner immediately.
Please note that areas where the film has
been formed (corners, hems, etc.) may
require extra cleaning due to the properties
of the film. Ensure that all protective film has
been removed from the fireplace prior to
burning the appliance.
