5.1  Fault Finding Chart 

Fault 

Possible Cause 

Remedy 

Griddle plate does not heat.  (Green light 
not illuminated). 

The mains isolating switch on the wall, 
circuit breaker or fuses are ‘Off’ at the 
power board. 

Turn ‘On’ mains isolating switch. 
Ensure power supply is correct. 

Griddle plate slow to heat up / recover 
heat. 

One element faulty. 

(Refer Fault Diagnosis 5.2.1). 

Replace element. 

(Refer Service Section 6.2.3). 

No heat control. 

Thermostat faulty. 

(Refer Fault Diagnosis 5.2.1). 

Replace thermostat. 

(Refer Service Section 6.2.1). 

No indicator light. 

Faulty indicator. 

Replace indicator. 

(Refer Service Section 6.2.5). 

Griddle plate does not heat. 
Green light illuminated, but amber light not 
illuminated. 

Thermostat faulty. 

(Refer Fault Diagnosis 5.2.1). 

 

Overtemp thermostat tripped or faulty. 

Replace thermostat. 

(Refer Service Section 6.2.1). 

 

Reset / replace overtemp thermostat. 

(Refer Service Section 6.2.4).
