ProxySG 900 Series Maintenance & Upgrade Guide

Memory Module

Supported Memory Configurations

The table below lists the available memory configurations for the ProxySG 900 Series
appliance. The appliance is equipped with four DDR3 DIMM slots; two slots per channel
(Channel A/B).

!

Caution:

Do not install any DIMMs which are not explicitly supported by the ProxySG 900

appliance. Installation and use of unauthorized DIMMs might damage the appliance and
will invalidate your Blue Coat service contract!

Memory Upgrade Information

If you are upgrading your SG900 appliance, look at the appliance memory configuration for
the target specification and review the DIMM slot usage for each memory module. Memory
should always be installed in matched pairs of equal size and speed into separate channels for
maximum performance. These are grouped by colors on the motherboard (ex. slots A1 and
B1).

Note:

Memory upgrades replace all existing memory in the appliance. Take care not to

mix the upgrade memory and existing system memory modules!
