REAR BUMPER GUARD FOR TOYOTA HIGHLANDER W/O HITCH 08-09
PROCEDURE:
1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.
2. IMPORTANT!
Due to the passenger side mounting location of the Frame Bracket being so
close to the muffler, before starting the installation allow muffler to cool.
Vehicles Equipped with Tie Downs:

Locate tie down bracket on each of the frame rails. Remove the outside (rear) bolt and loosen
up the inside (front) bolt just enough to remove the tie down brackets
(Figure 1)
.
NOTE:
You
do not need to remove the inside bolt.
You will not be re-installing tie downs back onto the
vehicle.

Starting on the driver side of the vehicle, engage the open slotted end of Mounting Bracket to
already inserted factory bolt
(Figure 2)
. Secure opposite end of Bracket with factory bolt
removed in step three
(Figure 3)
. Do not tighten at this time. Repeat this step for passenger
side.
Vehicles Without Tie Downs:

Partially hang driver side Frame Bracket to factory threaded holes in the frame rail using the
included (2) 10-1.25mm x 35mm Hex Head Bolts, (2) 10mm lock Washers, and (2) 10mm Flat
Washers
(Figure 3)
. Repeat this step for passenger side.
On All Vehicles:

Position Rear Bumper Guard on the outside of Mounting Brackets. Attach Rear Bumper Guard
to Mounting Brackets using the included (4) 12mm x 35mm Hex Head Bolts, (8) 12mm Flat
Washers, (4) 12mm Lock Washers, and (4) 12mm Hex Nuts
(Figure 4)
.

Adjust Rear Bumper Guard properly; and then tighten all hardware at this time.
8.
Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight.
To protect your investment
, wax this product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to
add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives
that could damage the finish.
For stainless steel
: Aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs on the finish.
Mild soap may be used also to clean the Sidebar.
For gloss black finishes
: Mild soap may be used to clean the Sidebar
