SERVSWITCH™ USB AND USB PLUS
5. Operation
This chapter explains the general operation of the ServSwitch USB. We
recommend that you read this chapter carefully before starting to use the Switch.
5.1 Interpreting the Status Display at Power-Up
When you plug in the ServSwitch USB to power it up, its front-panel 7-segment
display will show one of three things:
• If it’s not actually getting any power, the display will be blank.
• If it’s getting power and its front-panel pushbutton isn’t pressed, it will select
CPU channel #1; the display will blink “1” while the USB “enumeration
process” occurs—see
Section 3.1
—then will be solidly lit “1”.
• If it’s getting power and its pushbutton
is
pressed, the display will show the
firmware revision (see
Section 5.2.2
),
then
blinking and solid “1” as above.
For the meaning of this display after power-up, see
Section 5.3
