Table 5-5. Remote management parameters.
Parameters
Description
Host Address
This is the host’s IP address in the Internet (not the local
IP address) that will have management/configuration
access to the router from a remote site. If you are at
home and your home IP address has been designated as
the router’s remote management host IP address (located
in your company office), then you are able to configure
the router from your home. If the Host Address is left as
0.0.0.0, anyone can access the router’s Web-based
configuration from a remote location, providing they know
the password.
Port
The port number of remote management Web interface.
Enabled
Select Enabled to enable the remote management
function.
Apply button
Click on this button to apply your changes.
Cancel button
Click on this button to cancel your changes.
NOTE
When you want to access the Web-based management from a remote
site, you must enter the router’s WAN IP address (for example, 10.0.0.1)
into your Web browser, followed by port number 8080. For example,
enter 10.0.0.1:8080 (see Figure 5-6). You’ll also need to know the
password set in the Password Setting screen in order to access the
router’s Web-based management.
