11. Intall the
Upper Extension Arm
(C) to the upper pivot holes in the
Pole Mounting Channel
(E), use
the
3/4” X 1” Hex Bolt
(H),
1 1/2” Thin Washers
(AJ) and
3/4” Jam Lock Nut
(I). Tighten
completely and back off 1/2 trn as the bolt is used as a pivot and must move freely. Make sure you
install the upper extension arm wth the crank pivot tubes at the top of the welded assembly.
See Figure 3.
12. Install the eight
Backboard Mounting Tabs
(N) to the steel frame that is factory installed on the back
of
the
Backboard
(AF). Install one
Backboard Mounting
Tab Shim
(O) at each of the four mounting
locations. Mount the shims on the inside of the steel backboard frame between the tab and the frame.
Use
the
3/8” x 2½”
Hex Bolts
(Z),
3/8”
Lock Washers
(AA) and
3/8”
Hex Nuts
(AB). Tighten all
bolts assuring that the pivot holes in the backboard mounting tabs are lined up by placing a
3/4” x 3”
Hex
Bolt
(AC) through the holes in each pair of tabs prior to tightening. See Figure 4.
13. With the bottom of the backboard frame resting on the temporary support, you are now able to mount the
backboard to the
Extension Arms
(C) and (D) with the
3/4” X 3”
Hex Bolts (AC) and
3/4” Jam Lock
Nuts
(I). Once all four bolts are installed, tighten the lock nuts, then loosen 1/4 turn or until the
components will pivot freely. See Figure 3.
14. With the crank eye down, mount the chrome plated end of the inner crank tube to the crank mount tubes
in the upper extension arm with the
3/4 X 13” Hex Bolt (H) and 3/4 Jam Lock Nut (I)
. Tighten lock nut
then loosen 1/4 turn or turn until the component pivots freely. See Figure 3.
15. Using three to four adults, lift the backboard so the bottom of the board is approximately 6’ from the
playing surface. A wooden 2x4 cut 6’ long will help support the weight while the crank mount is being
completed. Attach the lower crank mount tube on the crank to the crank mount plates using the
5/8” x
5”
Hex Bolt
(X) and
5/8”
Nyloc Nut
(Y). Mounting tube on the crank should be on the front side of
the crank closest to the backboard. Tighten the nut, then loosen ¼ turn or until the crank will pivot
freely when being adjusted. See Figure 5

Incorrect
Warning/Notice!
Crank (J) must be installed as shown in figure 5. Improper installation could cause
premature wear and restrict your full 7 1/2’ -10’ range of adjustment.
