SYSTEM STATUS MONITORING
The system continuously monitors the current being
drawn by all three amplifiers, and reveals the status
of the amplifiers in three ways: LCD Display, status-
indicator LEDs and Form-C contacts (“screw termi-
nals”).
Table 7 summarizes the status of the LEDs
and Form-C contacts for various amplifier condi-
tions.
LCD Display
The LCD display provides an indication of the rela-
tive current being drawn by all of the three system
amplifiers. Typical displayed values for each of the
system amplifiers is listed in
Table 8 . By pressing
the front panel SELECT switch the display will show
the amount of MAIN and BASE attenuation that has
been programmed into the system.

amplifiers is the normal current draw
level as shown in table 8.
Status-Indicator LEDs
Status-indicator LEDs for all three amplifiers illumi-
nate in one of three colors. The meaning of each
color is summarized on the front panel of the MCA
and in table 7. During normal operation, the LEDs
for amplifier A and the BASE amplifier will glow
bright green, indicating normal current draw. The
LED for amplifier B will glow a dull green.
Form-C Contacts
ALARM and WARNING Form-C relay contacts are
located at the back of the MCA (see figure 8).
These screw terminals are intended for connection
to the customer’s supervisory and data acquisition
system.
