Force Reset
(
Initialization
)
If you force reset by powering on while holding down the MODE switch, all active drives will be returned
to their normal state. If all drives are active, the system will return to NORMAL. This should be applied
when it is the first time to initialize the disk array
At this time, the actual health of the disks will not be verified. All drives are assumed to be healthy.
If you would like to force reset right after [ONE DOWN] or [SYSTEM DOWN] reported, please follow
instruction of qualified technical support staff. While the array is in
「
ONE DOWN
」
or
「
SYSTEM DOWN
」
,
if you operate incorrectly, there might be chance to cause data corruption.
Force Reset
(
Transition from
「
SYSTEM DOWN
」)
If there is a damaged drive, contact our technical support staff for further assistance.
Below is an example of typical operation
●
After removing the damaged drive, hold the Mode switch at powering on and force reset the
machine. It will set up a most appropriate state for the unit
・
DRIVE FAIL LED still on, means that drive was the first to go down. Please remove it first
・
DRIVE FAIL LED blinking, that drive went down afterwards so keep it installed. Hold down
the Mode switch and power cycle the machine for possible recovery
・
In a RAID-3/5 configuration, it will go back to ONE DRIVE DOWN status.
●
It is sometimes possible to access the system even during SYSTEM DOWN.
Under such state, please try to access and backup data out of the array
●
If nothing’s working, replace all the drives you think might be bad, and start over with a force
reset (Initialization).
Parity Drive
●
Under RAID-3 configuration, Data drives and Parity drive are arranged in a sequential order.
Parity drive follows the last of data drive.
