TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
CAUSE
SOLUTION
Heater does not
turn on.
User reset is required.
Follow the instructions described in the ‘Auto
Safety Shut Off’ section of this manual.
Unit not plugged in properly.
Ensure that the plug is correctly inserted. Make
sure outlet is working.
Temperature set too low.
Select a higher temperature setting.
Obstruction causing heater not to work.
Keep any object at least 50cm away from the top,
back and sides and at least 200cm away from the
front grill.
Not enough heat. Heater set to Low.
Change setting to High.
Temperature set too low.
Select a higher temperature.
Heater cycles on
and off frequently.
The thermostat automatically turns the heater on
and off to maintain selected comfort level.
To make this occur less frequently select a higher
temperature setting.
Heater is blowing
cold air.
Mode control is set to fan only setting.
Select the Low or the High heat setting.
Unexpected noise. Popping or crackling sounds as the heater heats
up are normal and safe. Once the heater heats
up, the sound will go away.
If the noise persists please call local Bionaire
service reprensentative.
Unexpected smell. There may be an odour coming from the heater
the first time you use it or after prolonged
storage.
Dust or other debris has accumulated on the
heating element. Make sure the heater is in a well
ventilated area and continue running it until the
odour goes away.

INSTALLATION OF A PLUG (UK / IRELAND ONLY)
If the plug is not suitable for the socket outlets in your
home, it can be removed and replaced by a plug of
the correct type.
If the fuse in a moulded plug needs to be changed,
the fuse cover must be refitted. The appliance must
not be used without the fuse cover fitted.
If the plug is unsuitable, it should be dismantled and
removed from the supply cord and an appropriate
plug fitted as detailed. If you remove the plug it must
not be connected to a 13 amp socket and the plug
must be disposed of immediately.
If the terminals in the plug are not marked or if you
are unsure about the installation of the plug please
contact a qualified electrician.
This symbol indicates that this unit is a
Class II appliance and therefore an earth
connection is not required.
