The power socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be removed
easily in an emergency.
Make sure that the power cord is correctly positioned and is not in contact with
hot parts or sharp edges, is wound around and does not pass underneath the
appliance, is not twisted, and does not become entangled, to prevent the
appliance from falling.
Place the appliance and the container in which the foods are to be blended:
-
well away from heat sources (e.g. other ovens, gas burners, etc.)
-
on a firm, horizontal surface which does not have a delicate finish (e.g.
lacquered kitchen units, tablecloths, etc.), in a position where they cannot be
knocked, and far enough from the edge of the unit to prevent them from
falling.
-
well away from containers holding liquids, such as sinks, etc. If the appliance
is accidentally wet or immersed in a liquid, first disconnect the power supply
by turning off the control panel switch, and only then remove the plug from
the power socket. Dry both the plug and the power socket carefully before
reactivating the power socket. Reconnect the plug to the power socket and
then use the appliance. If in doubt, call in qualified staff.
USE
The blender has a push-button
on-off switch (1): hold down the button to
operate the motor and release to stop. It is complete with a plastic beaker (0.55l.)
large enough to contain and blend up to about 0.3l. of food
At first use, wash the parts in contact with the foods (see "Cleaning and
Maintenance" section): first check that the power cord is not connected to the
electrical socket. The blender head interlocks with the motor unit (the symbols
and
are aligned); to free them, turn the blender head clockwise (you will
hear the click as it is released) until the
and
symbols are aligned. Wash the
blender head only, dry it and re-engage it with the motor unit by reversing the
above procedure; pull gently to ensure that the two parts are fixed together.
Also wash the beaker and dry it to allow a firmer grip.
Operation
Place the ingredients for blending in a container of suitable size: the contents
must not fill the container completely (leave a gap of at least about 10 cm) and
the blender head must be about 50% immersed when the cup at its end just
touches the bottom of the container. You must hold the container firmly while
blending: if it is a saucepan it must not be too hot or on the heat.
Connect the plug to the power socket.
Immerse the blender head in the ingredients and then start the motor.
