7.9 How to clean the thermal head

1.  Turn off the machine.
2.  Wait a few minutes for the head to cool.
3.  Lift the printing unit by means of the relative lever (see point 1 of

Figure 7.3 on page 1-222

4.  Remove the labels.
5.  Moisten a soft cotton cloth with denatured alcohol.
6.  Wipe the lower part of the head to remove scraps of tape or labels.
7.  Make sure that the cleaned parts have dried before powering and

using the machine again.

WARNING

Never ever use metal or pointed tools for cleaning purposes
as they can cause irreparable damage to the thermal head.
