The scanning back insert can be used in the spring back of
any 4x5 view camera, copy stand, microscope or other
photographic or reprographic device than can accept a 4x5
film holder. A unique aspect of the increased resolution
possible with the new Super10K-HS is that its resolving
power exceeds that of the camera lens. At its 100%
resolution setting, this scanning back captures 70 line pairs
per millimeter with 65% contrast, which is higher than most
lenses can deliver.
The Super10K-HS scanning back produces delicate
gradations, crystal clear highlights and perfectly neutral color,
with digital focus verification to assure unparalleled
sharpness and clarity in every scan.  The immediate,
interactive control of Better Light's ViewFinder™ software
allows the photographer to fine-tune exposure, ISO
sensitivity, color balance and contrast to match the subject,
lighting and output conditions for the perfect digital image.

The ideal solution for critical flat art reproductions with no pixel interpolation

The new Super10K-HS™ answers the call of museums and

similar institutions for larger native file sizes. It has the ability
to create a direct digital image at a native resolution of 10,200
x 13,600 pixels (27% larger than the Super 8K). This high
resolution allows scanning of originals up to 34 x 45 inches in
size at 300 pixels per inch without stitching or interpolation,
and generates a 794 MB 48-bit RGB file size.
This new file size capability will be of special interest to those

segments of the art reproduction market that deal with large
originals, and who demand very fine detail in reproducing line
art, text, scrolls, and other subjects where absolute clarity is
of maximum importance.
Some users, including museum curators, have asked for

larger native file sizes than the Super8K-HS™ produces
without using the Enhanced Resolution feature, and yet
maintain the perfection of the pure RGB pixel data that the

Better Light scanning backs are known for.
