FSI PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

FSI engines operate identically to the Common Rail Diesel: they have a low pressure circuit

and a high pressure circuit.

This module can measure both circuits, as it comes equipped with a 200 bar sensor,

which has enough range and accuracy to measure them.

The equipment is supplied with high pressure flexible hoses with the corresponding

connectors.

INSTRUCTIONS

• Assemble the hoses to the “T” connector of the sensor.

• Connect the hoses to high pressure outlet and to rail inlet.

• Attach sensor to tester.

• Pressure must be 0 when the engine is stopped and ignition OFF. Activate ignition (do not

start engine). As soon as the ignition is activated, the low pressure pump must be activated,

and the pressure must reach about 5 to 6 bar. If the pressure does not reach the required

pressure, then the low pressure circuit is not working properly; check low pressure pump,

  filter, etc.

• Start the engine and check that the pressure at idle is about 50 bar and when accelerating

the pressure reaches about 100 to 110 bar. If the pressure at idle is significantly lower than

50 bar, then the high pressure pump or regulator are damaged. If the pressure is higher than

110 bar, then the regulator is damaged.
