Chapter 3: Installation Procedure
Connecting Wires
NOTE
If necessary, you can remove the equipment ground busbar to provide easier
access when connecting cables to the circuit breakers. Be sure to install the
equipment ground busbar when you finish.
Circuit breakers are numbered with #1 being at the bottom left and #2 being at
the bottom right. Odd-numbered breakers are in the left bank, bottom to top
while even-numbered breakers are in the right bank, bottom to top.
NOTE
Unless otherwise specified, wiring methods must be in accordance with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
1. Use the wiring guidelines from Table 3 on page 18 and the torque label on
the inside of the front door for proper wiring selection.
2. Use torque guidelines from the torque label to torque the components to
proper specifications.
3. After conductors have been tightened to the proper torque, mark the nuts
with a permanent ink marker or torque seal. Figure 13 shows an example of
marking.

NOTE
Use of a corrosion inhibitor is recommended at the point of connection
between conductors and terminals. This ensures reliability over the lifetime
of the equipment.
