Using Windows® SideShow™
Your Joybook Q41 Series comes with a new technology,
Windows® SideShow™, in Windows Vista that supports an in-
lid secondary display. With this auxiliary display, you can view
important information from a variety of pre-installed gadgets
(mini applications) whether your Joybook is on, off, or in Sleep
mode.
This built-in SideShow device is a handy tool that allows you to
quickly access some important information from your Joybook,
such as schedules, meeting agenda, phone numbers/addresses of
your contacts, and email messages, etc. With the SideShow
functionality, you can also view photos in slideshow mode, play
music, or play games easily.
• The Windows® SideShow™ feature is supported in Windows
Vista® Home Premium, Windows Vista® Business, and
Windows Vista® Ultimate only. This feature is not supported in
other operating systems.
• The SideShow device on your Joybook Q41 Series is equipped
with 1GB NAND flash memory. However, only around 970MB
will be available for storage, as a certain portion of memory
will be allocated to store SideShow programs.
• Microsoft Office 2007 (available on selected models) is
required for full functionality of the SideShow device.
The built-in SideShow device is recognized as a USB device in
your system. If you want to use the "Safely Remove Hardware"
option to remove a connected USB flash drive or other external
storage device, be careful not to remove the SideShow device
(shown as "BenQ Q41 Series") from your system.
