Saving power of your Joybook Lite
Your Joybook Lite features a
Power Save
mode that allows you
to save power by decreasing backlight brightness and switching
off certain functions and devices quickly.
To activate the
Power Save
mode, press the <Fn> + <F12>
hotkey combination. By default, the following functions and
devices will be switched off immediately.
• Wireless LAN (WLAN)
• Bluetooth
• 3G connection
• Webcam
In addition, the following settings will be changed at the same
time as preset in BIOS setup menu.
• Backlight brightness
• CPU throttling (which decides the frequency scaling of the
CPU and conserves power if the percentage is decreased)
If you intend to keep some functions or devices on during
Power Save
mode, do one of the following:
• Press the hotkey combinations to activate the designated
functions manually. Refer to
"Function hotkeys" on page 19
for details. The enabled functions remain on after the
Power
Save
mode is deactivated. Yet they will be off if the
Power
Save
mode is activated again.
• In BIOS setup menu, go to
Advanced
>
Power save
. Select
to enable the desired function. For more information on
BIOS, refer to
"Using BIOS setup" on page 44
.
• Your Joybook Lite U122 Eco Series works best with the
operating system pre-installed for you. Installing other
operating systems that have not been tested is not
recommended, and may not only void your warranty but also
affect the functionality of your Joybook Lite.
• The actual operating system that comes with your Joybook
Lite may vary. For details, refer to the Product Specification
label on the product carton
Important:
It is strongly recommended to create Factory Recovery DVD
immediately once your Joybook Lite is ready for use. Refer to
"Creating a Factory Recovery CD/DVD" on page 40
for details.
